Nick’s P.E. - Miles in May Challenge (Week 2 of 2)
As the weather forecast is looking good for the week and we have a bank holiday weekend I thought I would set a distance challenge but give you two weeks to complete it. You have a choice of going for a 1, 3, 5, or 10 mile challenge. This combined distance over the two weeks, not each time you go out.
There are apps that you can download for free on your phone such as Strava or Map My Run which are easy to set up and use. This will measure the distance that you walk and will save it in your history making it easy to keep track of the distance you have done.
Good luck and enjoy the fresh air.

Nick’s P.E. – Week 4 The 2.6 Challenge
You may have seen on the TV that across the nation many people are taking on the 2.6 Challenge. This is a challenge that allows you to get creative with the number 26 or 2.6. This is linked to the London Marathon that should have taken place yesterday over 26.2 miles. I thought that this would be a great way of you being able to get creative and create your own physical challenge in your house.
Here are some ideas of things that you can try,
* Walk/Run/ (this includes using manual chairs or electric chairs) 2.6 km or 2.6 miles either in a day or across a week. You could even do it every day.
*Throw and catch (can be adapted to rolling a ball) 26 times without dropping it.
* Do an obstacle course around 26 toys or items
* Learn 26 Fortnite dances
* See how many keepy uppys you can do in 26 secs
* Squeeze a small object or play dough 26 times
Whatever you choose, make it fun and be creative as well physical and challenging (not making 26 chocolate muffins😁).

Mark Esho's Visit - 19th September 2019
Wed 25 Sep 2019On Thursday 19th of September we welcomed Mark Esho in to meet pupils in F.E to talk about his journey into employment. Mark is an accomplished Entrepreneur and Author of the book “I can, I will”, which talks about how he overcame racism and disability.
Mark is passionate about supporting and empowering people with a disability to get into the workplace. So as part of our Careers and Enterprise Curriculum we asked him to talk to us about the companies he has set up and the barriers he faced and ultimately overcame.
Mark was treated to a tour of the school by one of our pupils, we then listened to his motivational speech about his journey and ultimate success. His determination to succeed resulted in him working for the charity Mosaic and this led him onto starting his own online property business. He now has several companies and has won numerous business awards both locally and Internationally.
The class had the opportunity to ask him some questions about his Entrepreneurship, the type of barriers he faced and how he overcame them. Two pupils then had the opportunity to deliver their What my disability means to me presentation for Mark.
“His talk made me think, its not as bad or as hard as I think it’s going to be. There is hope”
( Oliver )
“ It was a real eye opener, his determination and resilience was so inspiring”
( Joshua)
“ The pleasure was all mine, it was enjoyable and humbling”
( Mark Esho)
