Mark Esho's Visit - 19th September 2019
On Thursday 19th of September we welcomed Mark Esho in to meet pupils in F.E to talk about his journey into employment. Mark is an accomplished Entrepreneur and Author of the book “I can, I will”, which talks about how he overcame racism and disability.
Mark is passionate about supporting and empowering people with a disability to get into the workplace. So as part of our Careers and Enterprise Curriculum we asked him to talk to us about the companies he has set up and the barriers he faced and ultimately overcame.
Mark was treated to a tour of the school by one of our pupils, we then listened to his motivational speech about his journey and ultimate success. His determination to succeed resulted in him working for the charity Mosaic and this led him onto starting his own online property business. He now has several companies and has won numerous business awards both locally and Internationally.
The class had the opportunity to ask him some questions about his Entrepreneurship, the type of barriers he faced and how he overcame them. Two pupils then had the opportunity to deliver their What my disability means to me presentation for Mark.
“His talk made me think, its not as bad or as hard as I think it’s going to be. There is hope” ( Oliver )
“ It was a real eye opener, his determination and resilience was so inspiring” ( Joshua)
“ The pleasure was all mine, it was enjoyable and humbling” ( Mark Esho) |
