"Work for All" - November 20th 2019
On the 27th November an Ash Field Academy FE pupil attended a taster day for the “Work for All” programme at the King Power stadium. As part of the taster day, pupils from schools across the City and County took part in written and practical sessions, with the aim of preparing students with the skills needed for work.
The focus was on learning about Careers in Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths. They worked in teams and on their own to build robots, design and build circuits and build towers. The pupils used skills needed in the workplace to get the tasks done, teamwork, problem solving, Listening and creativity.
The day was a great confidence boost for the FE pupil who said:
“It was interesting learn that maths and science are part of literally everything”.
The pupil thought that:
“The STEM subjects were good and it could help me in the future”.
