Ranjeet has got Hair to Spare!
Wed 08 Feb 2017Ranjeet has got Hair to Spare
The Little Princess Trust provides real hair wigs free of charge to boys and girls across the UK and Ireland that have sadly lost their own hair due to cancer treatment and other illnesses.
A wig can have a huge impact on a child’s life. It will help them feel 'normal' as they endure through whatever condition or process they need to overcome in order to recover. I have the ability to grow my hair back, whereas a boy or girl out there might not have the fortune of doing so themselves which is why I have decided to do this.
Along with donating my hair, I would like to raise some money for this charity. The cost to the charity to purchase one wig is on average between £350-£500. Absolutely any amount of money you are willing to donate towards this cost will help continue to provide wigs to the boys and girls that need them.
On Friday 24th February during a whole school assembly, I will be having my hair cut in front of all staff and pupils by Mrs Booth....eeek!!! Honestly, together, our donations will make a true difference in a little boy or girls life.
To make a donation you can leave your donation in a sealed envelope addressed to Ranjeet and send it in with your son/daughter or leave it at the school Reception. Alternatively please visit www.justgiving.com/Rani-Kaur-Gangar

Official Opening of Changing Places Toilet in LCFC's King Power Stadium
Thu 01 Dec 2016Students from Ash Field Academy were at the King Power Stadium yesterday to officially open the recently installed Changing Places toilet facility. Channel 4 were there filming again for their 'No Go Britain' series which forms part of Channel 4's News. As well as Luke officially opening the new facility, all the students met the Manager Claudio Ranieri! He kindly agreed to a photo with Luke, but also insisted on meeting all the other students from Ash Field.
We're still very proud of our students - especially Luke for his commitment and hard work. Well done Luke!

Channel 4 News were filming yesterday at Ash Field Academy...
Thu 24 Nov 2016Channel 4 News were filming yesterday at Ash Field Academy for a report about the experiences of people living with disabilities. The filming will be edited into a piece that will appear on Channel 4 News as part of the 'No Go Britain' series and will look at the lack of Changing Places toilet facilities.
One of our students - Luke - wrote to Channel 4 News to explain about the pupils’ campaign for more toilets including the song the pupils have composed and recorded on the issue.
Channel 4 News interviewed Luke and recorded part of a music session with our Musicians Dan Britton and Kev Bayliss. The footage will be broadcast in December on Channel 4 News’ main evening bulletin.
Needless to say that we are all extremely proud of Luke and his hard work with this important campaign!
