The NSPCC website describes safeguarding as follows:
'All organisations that work with or come into contact with children should have safeguarding policies and procedures to ensure that every child, regardless of their age, gender, religion or ethnicity, can be protected from harm.
Child protection is part of the safeguarding process. It focuses on protecting individual children identified as suffering or likely to suffer significant harm. This includes child protection procedures which detail how to respond to concerns about a child.
Safeguarding children and child protection guidance and legislation applies to all children up to the age of 18.'

We are currently in the process of implementing the CPOMS software application at Ash Field. This software will assist the school with the management and recording of all issues and incidents related to the safeguarding of all the wonderful pupils we have.
The system should be up and running by Autumn 2017.
Once a year an internal audit is carried out to ensure that all current policies and procedures that are in place are being carried out appropriately. This years audit was carried out on 16th May 2017.
If you wish to contact the school about anything to do with safeguarding and the school is closed, we have set up a special email address for you to use. The email address is firstname.lastname@example.org and you can either email in your usual way or use the contact form below. Your email will automatically be sent to the 3 Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSLs); Jane Booth (Principal), Rhian Richardson (Deputy Principal) and Liz Pilmore (Vice Principal) who will respond as soon as they are able to.
