Due to the current COVID-19 situation and our pupils' medical vulnerabilities, Ash Field Academy is unable to host any volunteers or college placement students this 2020.2021 academic year.
We will review the Volunteer and Placement Programme offer June 2021 based on guidance at that time for the 2021.2022 academic year. Shortly after this review we will make available our 2021.2022 introductory sessions that will need to be attended before commencing your placement.
We would ask any existing placement schools / colleges to contact Ash Field Academy on email@example.com if they have any questions or need support. Ash Field Teaching Alliance is able to provide SEND workshops and training for your pupils and students in the meantime.
Ellen Croft - Vice Principal
The sessions run from 9.30am – 12:30pm (please see below and our registration form for dates).
At your introductory session you will be given important information about the Academy including Health & Safety and Child Protection. You will also be taken on a tour of the Academy. Towards the end of the session you will have a short 1:1 discussion with a member of the Ash Field Team. Together you will discuss volunteering options specific to you such as days, times and the age of the pupils you would like to work with or the requirements of your placement. We will also ask to see your current DBS (CRB).
To request a place at one of our introductory day please click here or on the image below to complete a registration form and email it to . You will receive an email confirming your attendance.
Where possible we aim to reply within 5 working days (term time). Please note the admin department is not open during school holidays.
After the introductory day you will receive an email from Ash Field Academy to confirm whether or not a place is available. If you are offered a position and have applied for a DBS through Ash Field Academy we will ask you to contact us once you have received your DBS. On receipt of this information we will confirm the arrangements of your placement including start date and time with you.
All volunteer placements are subject to receipt of a satisfactory reference.
A reference from a previous or present employer or from someone you work for as part of a volunteer placement is preferable. However, if this is not possible, a personal reference is acceptable for our volunteer placements. A personal reference can be provided by teachers, lecturers, group/club leaders, mentors, neighbours or family friends. However, your personal reference should not be written by someone who is solely a friend, partner/spouse or immediate relative (such as a parent or sibling). A reference from a previous or present employer or from someone you work for as part of a volunteer placement should be from an official business email address.
All 2020.2021 sessions have been cancelled.
Dates for 2021.2022 session will be released mid June 2021. Our programme will be informed by the latest government guidance at that time.
