Initial Teacher Education (ITE)
Our Inclusion & SEND Hub has a strong track record of supporting Early Primary, Primary and Secondary Initial Teacher Training programmes with their SEND provision.
We offer various SEND and Inclusion specific workshops to ensure trainees have a good understanding of supporting SEND pupils in their classrooms though Quality First Teaching. We believe that every Teacher is a teacher of SEND and we want ITT students to both have the confidence and competence to meet the needs of every learner in their class.
Annually, our Inclusion & SEND Hub supports over 300 Specialist School Placement throughout Leicester City in collaboration with our partner schools. We believe these placements are invaluable to trainees to gain a deeper understanding of SEND learners and appreciation of a career in Specialist Education.
