Get Into Teaching - Ash Field School Direct (ITT)

Why Teach in a Special School?

Ash Field Academy offers Non-Salaried School Direct places for both

Early Primary and Primary, as well as Secondary English.

Working alongside the Leicester and Leicestershire SCITT http://www.leics-scitt.co.uk/pages/ and the Leicestershire Secondary SCITT http://leicestershiresecondaryscitt.org/

Ash Field School Direct is an option for those with a particular interest in exploring an SEN Route as part of their Initial Teacher Training.

School Centred Initial Teacher Training (SCITT) is a school based teacher training programme which, upon completion, successful trainees are awarded both a PGCE and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

Ash Field School Direct trainees receive all the benefits of being enrolled on a core SCITT programme, the differences being that the majority of the teaching placements are provided by Ash Field Teaching Alliance schools. There is also an assurance of placements within in a Special School setting. Therefore allowing the trainee to explore the SEN Route in more detail.
